CDL training cost in Indiana
License fees and school charges are different bills. The fee lines below are copied from the Indiana licensing source opened . They are not a tuition estimate, and they are not added together into one “total cost.”
License fees on the official page
- CLP fee
- The Bureau of Motor Vehicles fee chart, revised January 1, 2026, lists a commercial learner’s permit at $17. The manual says the applicant pays all required fees. A commercial learner’s permit is valid for one year.
- CDL fee
- The same chart lists a commercial driver’s license at $35. Adding or removing a CDL endorsement is $19. The chart does not split those amounts by class.
The full licensing notes, including age, entry-level training, and the medical card, are on how to get a CDL in Indiana.
Named program charges
No school in Indiana has a program charge reprinted here. A directory listing is not a price. Ask the school for a written quote for the class, location, and schedule you want.

Questions drivers ask
How much does CDL training cost in Indiana?
This page does not publish a statewide tuition. The license amounts are the lines on the official fee source checked October 29, 2026. A school price appears only when a named program page was already checked, and that price is not a quote for another school.
Are the Indiana license fees the whole bill?
No. A permit, a license card, a skills test, a medical exam, and a school charge are different payments. If one of those lines was missing from the licensing page, it is not filled in from another state.
Does a directory listing include the price?
No. A listing in the Indiana school directory is not a tuition quote and not a funded seat.
