CDL training cost in Florida
License fees and school charges are different bills. The fee lines below are copied from the Florida licensing source opened . They are not a tuition estimate, and they are not added together into one “total cost.”
License fees on the official page
- CDL fee
- Original or renewal commercial driver license is $75. An additional $6.25 service fee may apply when a tax collector office issues the credential. The page says veterans who provide evidence of veteran status are not charged that $6.25 fee.
- Skills-test fee
- The fee schedule lists a skill retest at $20. It does not list a separate fee for the first skills test.
The full licensing notes, including age, entry-level training, and the medical card, are on how to get a CDL in Florida.
Named program charges
No school in Florida has a program charge reprinted here. A directory listing is not a price. Ask the school for a written quote for the class, location, and schedule you want.

Questions drivers ask
How much does CDL training cost in Florida?
This page does not publish a statewide tuition. The license amounts are the lines on the official fee source checked October 29, 2026. A school price appears only when a named program page was already checked, and that price is not a quote for another school.
Are the Florida license fees the whole bill?
No. A permit, a license card, a skills test, a medical exam, and a school charge are different payments. If one of those lines was missing from the licensing page, it is not filled in from another state.
Does a directory listing include the price?
No. A listing in the Florida school directory is not a tuition quote and not a funded seat.
