Questions drivers ask

Does this tool issue a CDL or a permit?

No. It compares your answers with four federal rules and tells you which rule to read. The state licensing agency decides the application.

Are my answers saved?

No. The check runs in the browser. The page does not send the answers and does not store them.

Is 21 the age in every state?

No. 49 CFR 391.11(b)(1) sets 21 for a driver covered by that part. 49 CFR 383.25(a)(4) sets 18 for a commercial learner permit holder. The state sets the age for driving that stays inside the state.
