How to get a CDL in Oklahoma
Each line is from a Oklahoma licensing page opened . A line that says the page did not state a fee is not an estimate.

- Minimum age
- Not stated on the first-time applicants page.
- CLP fee
- The page does not print a commercial learner permit price that is separate from the credential fees. After the written tests, it issues a temporary commercial learner permit. That permit must be held for 14 full days before the drive test. The skills test can be taken on the 15th day.
- CDL fee
- For a first credential, a 4-year Class A is a $25 application fee plus a $56.50 credential fee, $81.50 total. Class B is $15 plus $56.50, $71.50 total. Class C is $15 plus $46.50, $61.50 total. An 8-year credential is Class A $25 plus $113, $138 total; Class B $15 plus $113, $128 total; Class C $15 plus $93, $108 total. A first motorcycle endorsement adds a $4 application fee.
- Skills-test fee
- The page does not print a Service Oklahoma skills-test dollar. A third-party drive school or examiner sets its own rate. Service Oklahoma does not supply the test vehicle. Passed sections are credited if another section is failed. Results are valid only for the life of the commercial learner permit.
- ELDT
- Entry-level driver training comes from a provider on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry. The page says it can be finished any time before the skills test and recommends finishing it before the written test. The documents for the appointment list the completion certificate as required for hazardous materials, or before the skills test. Someone who previously held a CDL or commercial learner permit may qualify for an exception. The page says the training is not required to remove an air-brake restriction or an automatic-transmission restriction. It does not state an hour minimum.
- Medical card
- A driver who self-certifies as non-excepted interstate must have a medical examiner’s certificate before the license is issued. As of February 17, 2026, Service Oklahoma no longer accepts paper certificates. The certificate must be submitted electronically through the FMCSA National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners. For excepted interstate, excepted intrastate, and non-excepted intrastate, the page says a certificate is not required for licensing and may still be required while operating a commercial motor vehicle.
