Minimum age

An initial Missouri CDL requires you to be at least 18 and to hold a valid Missouri operator license.

CLP fee

The page says the commercial learner permit is $44. That amount includes a $25 written examination fee, a $10 permit transaction fee, and a $9 office processing fee.

CDL fee

The page says most first-time applicants who already hold a valid permit pay approximately $83. That figure includes a $25 skills test fee, a $40 license transaction fee for a three-to-six-year term, and an $18 office processing fee. It also says the fees may differ by term and by extra knowledge tests or credited fees.

Skills-test fee

The same paragraph lists a $25 skills test fee inside the approximate $83 total. The permit must be held, with training, for at least 14 days before the skills test.

Medical card

Applicants who will operate in non-exempt interstate or non-exempt intrastate commerce must have a DOT medical examiner certificate before a permit or license is issued. A medical variance, often a Skill Performance Evaluation, must be carried with the medical examiner certificate at all times.
