CDL training cost in Pennsylvania
License fees and school charges are different bills. The fee lines below are copied from the Pennsylvania licensing source opened . They are not a tuition estimate, and they are not added together into one “total cost.”
License fees on the official page
- CLP fee
- The July 2025 commercial chart does not print one standalone commercial learner permit price. An upgrade from a non-commercial license includes one permit and the photo fee: $43.50 with 7 to 12 months left, $65.50 with 13 to 24 months, $87.50 with 25 to 36 months, and $109.50 with 37 to 48 months. The chart says the commercial fees shown are for a single permit unless indicated otherwise, and each additional commercial permit is $5.
- CDL fee
- The July 2025 chart lists a four-year commercial renewal at $127.50 and a two-year renewal at age 65 or older at $71.50. A four-year renewal with hazmat is $149.50. An out-of-state new four-year commercial license is $127.50. The payments page says a federal fee of $60 applies to a hazmat request in addition to those state fees. The chart says an additional federal fee applies and points to the back of form DL-288 instead of printing that dollar.

How much does CDL training cost in Pennsylvania?
This page does not publish a statewide tuition. The license amounts are the lines on the official fee source checked October 29, 2026. A school price appears only when a named program page was already checked, and that price is not a quote for another school.
Are the Pennsylvania license fees the whole bill?
No. A permit, a license card, a skills test, a medical exam, and a school charge are different payments. If one of those lines was missing from the licensing page, it is not filled in from another state.
Does a directory listing include the price?
No. A listing in the Pennsylvania school directory is not a tuition quote and not a funded seat.
