CDL training cost in Connecticut
License fees and school charges are different bills. The fee lines below are copied from the Connecticut licensing source opened . They are not a tuition estimate, and they are not added together into one “total cost.”
License fees on the official page
- CLP fee
- After the knowledge tests are passed, issuance of the commercial learner permit is $20. The knowledge tests are charged separately: general knowledge $16, air brakes $5, combination $5, and $5 for each other endorsement requested.
- Skills-test fee
- The skills test is $30, paid when the application is submitted. A school-bus applicant with a letter from the employer can have the general knowledge, permit, and skills-test fees waived. Endorsement fees for carrying passengers are still charged.

Named program charges
No school in Connecticut has a program charge reprinted here. A directory listing is not a price. Ask the school for a written quote for the class, location, and schedule you want.

Questions drivers ask
How much does CDL training cost in Connecticut?
This page does not publish a statewide tuition. The license amounts are the lines on the official fee source checked October 29, 2026. A school price appears only when a named program page was already checked, and that price is not a quote for another school.
Are the Connecticut license fees the whole bill?
No. A permit, a license card, a skills test, a medical exam, and a school charge are different payments. If one of those lines was missing from the licensing page, it is not filled in from another state.
Does a directory listing include the price?
No. A listing in the Connecticut school directory is not a tuition quote and not a funded seat.
